Delicious Maple Dijon Glazed Roast Turkey Recipe

This roast turkey features a mouthwatering maple dijon glaze that balances sweetness and tanginess. The recipe takes about 4 hours from start to finish and serves 8-10 people.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole turkey (12-14 pounds), thawed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Prep the Turkey: Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
  2. Make Garlic Butter: In a bowl, mix the softened butter with minced garlic, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
  3. Baste the Turkey: Gently loosen the skin of the turkey and spread half of the garlic butter mixture under the skin. Rub the remaining butter all over the turkey.
  4. Prepare the Glaze: In a separate bowl, combine maple syrup and Dijon mustard. Brush this glaze generously over the turkey.
  5. Roast the Turkey: Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan. Roast in the preheated oven, basting every 30 minutes with the pan juices, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) in the thickest part of the thigh, about 3-4 hours.
  6. Rest and Serve: Once done, remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for at least 20-30 minutes before carving. Serve with your favorite sides.
