Delicious Creamy Garlic Potato Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 head of garlic, roasted and mashed
  • 1 teaspoon salt, adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Gruyère) optional
  • Fresh parsley for garnish optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Garlic: Roast the garlic head in the oven for about 30 minutes until soft. Squeeze out the roasted garlic and mash it into a paste.
  3. Mix the Cream Sauce: In a bowl, combine heavy cream, milk, mashed garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme. Mix well.
  4. Layer the Potatoes: In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and cream mixture.
